Construction and Renovation of Houses for the Elderly and Infirm, Providing Meals for the Hungry, and Digging Wells for Children in Uganda to Have Drinking Water are Just Some of the Endeavors of Tamara Misirlić from Vranje, who has Been Involved in Humanitarian Work since the Age of 16.
This young woman, originally from Kosovo and Metohija, who rightfully bears the epithet of the most kind-hearted person in Serbia, will, for the first time next week, come to help her compatriots on this side of the Drina River.
And she will not stop there; she will continue to help those in need in Serbia, as well as in Srpska, on Kosmet, and beyond the region.
- We are coming to Banja Luka next week to help a boy who is on a ventilator. His mother asked us for help. We will also assist many families in cooperation with friends from the "Krajišnik" association. We have had many successful collaborations with them in Serbia, and now the opportunity has arisen to expand our work in BiH. Our assistance includes providing medical help, financial support, and other necessary resources to alleviate their current needs - Tamara told "Glas Srpske".
She states that, when it comes to humanitarian work, this will be her first visit to Banja Luka, but she emphasizes that it will not end there.
- Many families from the Republic of Srpska are contacting us, and I believe this will be a beautiful beginning - says Tamara, who has been engaged in humanitarian work for the past five years, during which time she and her team have taken care of more than 200 families.
She went a step further, and while many young people her age are going out and having fun, at the age of 18, she founded a foundation named after her.
- Initially, I helped people with the support of my family, friends, and godparents. Now, many people are involved in all this. We currently have six active projects across Serbia - Tamara told us.
She will never forget the people she has helped, and she still gladly visits and talks to them about all the hardships they face. Some of them have left a strong impression on her.
- The most significant impression on me was left by an old man named Mile, who lived without electricity and water, with mice. We renovated his house in two weeks and took him for treatment. He is now well and happy in his new home. Also, the Dimitrov sisters, who slept in the same room with sheep. We built a completely new house for them in less than two months - Tamara proudly recounted.
Recently, she and her team, including her fellow citizen from Vranje and another great humanitarian, Marko Nikolić, dug wells in Uganda so that the local population could have drinking water.
