Banja Luka’s most famous promenade, Gospodska Street – officially known as Veselin Masleša Street – has once again received a fresh and meaningful makeover, this time in honor of World Teachers’ Day.
Above the street, passersby can now see eye-catching and thoughtful messages suspended across the walkway, celebrating the importance of educators and their lasting impact on society.
In celebration of this special day, the City of Banja Luka has announced a series of events.
On Sunday at 12:00 PM, visitors are invited to attend the Career Fair titled "When I Grow Up, I Want to Be a Teacher", held at the Music Pavilion in Petar Kočić Park. There, teachers will interact with students and present the teaching profession in a creative and engaging way.
Later in the day, at 5:00 PM, a panel discussion will take place at the Milanović House, featuring prominent members of the academic community who will speak on the topic "How Important Is a Teacher?"
The celebration is organized by the City of Banja Luka, in collaboration with the Association of Educators “Ipak se okreće.”
World Teachers’ Day, observed every year on October 5th, was proclaimed by UNESCO in 1994 to commemorate the 1966 signing of the Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. This date serves as a reminder of the critical importance of supporting and protecting teachers' rights, as they form the backbone of every society.
World Teachers’ Day is more than just a date on the calendar – it is a celebration of passion, dedication, and the incredible influence educators have on our lives. It is a chance to say thank you to those who help shape the future of our communities.
