This spring, Banja Luka is once again organizing a large-scale city beautification campaign, inviting all residents to take part in the initiative.
The announcement came following today's meeting of the Organizational Committee for the spring campaign "Clean Face of the City."
Under the slogan "Clean City, Lasting Love," the campaign will kick off next week, with residents receiving timely updates about planned activities.
"As in previous years, this campaign will involve numerous cleanup actions across neighborhoods, following a systematic and coordinated approach to beautify the entire city. The initiative will engage all municipal services and enterprises responsible for city hygiene and maintenance," said Milada Šukalo, project manager for the city and chairwoman of the Organizational Committee for the "Clean Face of the City" campaign.
She emphasized that the initiative will encourage schools, homeowner associations, businesses, and individuals to clean up their surroundings and contribute to a cleaner city. In return, the city will provide appropriate support to all participants.
"The plan is to implement the campaign in cycles—starting from the city center, moving through neighborhoods, and extending to suburban and rural areas," Šukalo explained. She also announced a new feature of this year's campaign: the first week will include a thorough cleaning of the Kastel Fortress.
Additionally, residents will have the opportunity to dispose of waste free of charge at the city's recycling yard. Specific locations will be announced in the coming days.
At today's meeting, committee members also urged residents not to dispose of bulky waste in unauthorized locations—such as next to dumpsters meant exclusively for household waste. Instead, they can contact the municipal waste management company, "Čistoća," which provides bulk waste removal services for a set fee.
