The reconstructed roads and vehicle entry fee system for the protected area of the University Campus in Banja Luka were officially opened on September 3, 2024.
The
daily entry fee for passenger vehicles into the University Campus is 5 KM,
while the fee for minibuses is 10 KM, and buses will pay a daily fee of 20 KM.
A monthly pass for all types of motor vehicles is 40 KM, according to Prof. Dr.
Radoslav Gajanin, the Rector of the University of Banja Luka, as stated on the
official website of the University.
As
explained by the Rector, based on the decision of the University’s Board of
Directors, employees and students of the University of Banja Luka, workers of
the Nikola Tesla Student Center, as well as business space users and delivery
services, will be exempt from paying the entry fee.
All proceeds from vehicle entry fees will be transferred to the University of Banja Luka's account and will be used for the protection, development, and improvement of the University Campus, the Rector stated.
The
Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of
the Republic of Srpska, Assistant Professor Dr. Željko Budimir, said that the
reconstructed road and vehicle entry fee system in the protected area of the
University Campus would significantly enhance safety within the campus.
The
tragic event at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School in Belgrade served as
a signal that we must increase safety and control of those entering and exiting
the protected area. The first step is this new road and the installation of a
toll gate at the entrance, said Budimir, emphasizing that the University Campus
continues to develop.
The
value of the works carried out on the reconstruction of the road in the
University Campus amounts to 198,055 KM, while the cost of equipment
installation for vehicle entry fee collection is 21,937 KM.
