The president of the Banja Luka Running League, Duško Tadić, emphasized that the main goal of the race is to promote Serbian unity and togetherness, while also highlighting the importance of January 9 – the Day of the Republic.

The event gathered more than 250 adult runners and 150 children from Banja Luka, other parts of the Republic of Srpska, Serbia, and beyond, making it one of the most well-attended editions so far.

In the main 5-kilometer race, Žarko Jovanović claimed victory in the men’s competition, successfully defending the title he won last year. Davor Vidović finished second, followed by Miloš Velušić in third place, Branislav Ćelić in fourth, and Bojan Kosić in fifth.

In the women’s competition, Jelena Kosić took first place, dedicating her victory and medal to the tragically deceased Tijana Gligić Kosić. Snježana Pisarić finished second, Sanda Skanderija third, Dragana Roljić fourth, and Marija Subotić fifth.

Special attention and joy were brought by the children’s races, which once again proved to be a highlight of the event. In the 2013/2014 age category, the winners were Vuk Majstorović and Nađa Mihaljčić. In the 2015/2016 category, Aljoša Ivanović and Tamara Poznić recorded the fastest times, while in the 2017 and younger category, Nikša Džulović and Ksenija Moravac claimed victory.

Official race results are available on the GB3 Timing platform, while photos from the event will be published in the coming days through the official channels of the Organizing Committee.

“We are especially pleased with the strong turnout of young participants and children, as this race shows that a healthy lifestyle and love for sport have the power to bring the entire community together,” the event organizers said.
