The springtime extravaganza in Banja Luka kicked off with the inauguration of the Flower Festival in "Petar Kočić" Park.
Transforming into a vibrant floral haven, "Petar Kočić" Park dazzles with an array of beautiful blooms, decorative plants, and floral arrangements as it hosts this year's exhibition and sale event, featuring 30 exhibitors. The festival runs until Sunday, April 14.
The opening ceremony was graced with a fittingly exquisite program, featuring performances by the Prva Baletska Škola ballerinas and students from the "Vlado Milošević" Art School. Mayor Draško Stanovuković, who attended the opening, expressed gratitude to all exhibitors for their contributions to this unique event. He emphasized that the festival's inauguration sets the stage for the forthcoming "Banja Luka Spring."
"Spring awakens everything, and our city is brimming with beautiful events. The Flower Festival provides an opportunity for everyone to revel in stunning decorations and a variety of flora. Banja Luka truly comes alive in spring, as it shines in its full glory. Our aim is not only to beautify our city but also to provide our exhibitors with a platform to showcase and promote their products," remarked the mayor.
Looking ahead, Mayor Stanovuković anticipates a plethora of outstanding events, including preparations for the City Day celebration and well-known festivities such as the Banja Luka Carnival and TrotoArta.
The mayor took the opportunity to thank the students of the "Vlado Milošević" Art School and the Prva Baletska Škola ballerinas for their splendid performance, which further enriched and embellished the event. He also extended an invitation to all citizens to visit the Flower Festival and immerse themselves in the springtime magic.
Advisor to the Mayor, Milada Šukalo, highlighted the significant turnout of both visitors and exhibitors at the Flower Festival, which traditionally takes place in "Petar Kočić" Park.
"In addition to the economic significance of this event, which provides small entrepreneurs with the opportunity to promote and market their products, this festival holds educational value as well. Preschool and school-aged children have the chance to learn about various plant species. Moreover, through this event, we continue to promote Banja Luka as an attractive tourist destination, especially in spring," emphasized Šukalo.
The Flower Festival not only celebrates the beauty of nature but also underscores Banja Luka's commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship and nurturing cultural enrichment, making it a must-visit destination during the enchanting spring season.
