The XXV European Festival of Plucked String Instruments “Evening with the Tamburitza 2026,” organized by the City Tamburitza Orchestra of Banja Luka, will take place from April 16 to 18 this year at the Cultural Center Banski Dvor.
The
festival is being held to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the
Banja Luka City Tamburitza Orchestra and will serve as an introduction to the
celebrations of Banja Luka City Day.
This
multi-day event will offer audiences a rich program featuring performances by
renowned tamburitza orchestras from across the region.
The
festival officially opens on Friday, April 17, at 8:00 PM, with a performance
by the Grand Tamburitza Orchestra of Radio Television of Vojvodina, conducted
by Marko Parčetić.
On
Saturday, April 18, starting at 8:00 PM, visitors will have the opportunity to
enjoy additional performances by distinguished ensembles, continuing the
celebration of traditional music.
Free tickets will be available starting April 14 at the box office of Banski Dvor Cultural Center.
The
festival is supported by the City of Banja Luka, the Government of Republika
Srpska, and other partners, continuing a long-standing tradition of promoting
tamburitza music and fostering cultural cooperation in the region.
This
event represents a unique opportunity for fans of tamburitza music to enjoy
performances by some of the best orchestras from Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and other European countries.
