The humanitarian auction “Art That Someone Needs” will be held for the fourth time on April 9, 2026, once again in the foyer of the Obilićevo Sports Hall in Banja Luka.
As in
previous years, the funds raised will support the public kitchen “Meal of
Love,” run by the Mozaik prijateljstva citizens’ association. According to Ana
Stanarević, an academic painter, tattoo artist and member of the organizing
team, preparations for the event are already well underway.
“Although
there is more than a month left until the event, it already looks like we will
break previous records in terms of the number of participants and artworks. We
are ready for that, because we are preparing some very entertaining changes to
the concept of the auction itself. We also believe we will surpass previous
figures in the total funds raised, especially knowing that support for the
public kitchen is now more important than ever,” Stanarević emphasized.
Organizers remind the public that the “Meal of Love” kitchen is currently facing the loss of its premises and that a donor campaign is underway to help relocate the facility to a new home.
For
this reason, Nikola Rodić, a graphic designer and university assistant, hopes
that this year’s edition of “Art That Someone Needs” will receive even stronger
support from domestic companies.
“Companies
have the opportunity to donate money for an extremely important cause and in
return choose one of the outstanding artworks donated by established city
artists and talented young creators. We are pleased to say that Tropic and Moj
Market will once again sponsor the auction, with support also coming again from
the brand Manja as well as Banjalučka Pivara. However, we hope this is only the
beginning. We invite all small and large companies to contact us via our
Facebook or Instagram pages and join art and humanity in the most beautiful
way,” Rodić said.
The
“Art That Someone Needs” auction was first organized in 2023. In the previous
three editions, more than 80 artists and collectives participated, over 400
artworks and items were sold, and a total of 25,921 KM was raised for the
public kitchen.
