The famous Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge in Višegrad will host the “Golden Hands of Podrinje” event on Saturday, June 20, bringing together numerous exhibitors of handicrafts, homemade products and traditional crafts from various parts of Republika Srpska and Serbia.
The event is organized by the Višegrad Tourist Organization, with the official opening scheduled for 11 a.m.
Preserving Tradition and Promoting Local Creativity
Jadranko Janjić, Director of the Višegrad Tourist Organization, emphasized that “Golden Hands of Podrinje” is one of the most important initiatives aimed at preserving cultural heritage, promoting traditional craftsmanship and showcasing the tourism potential of the region.
“The goal of this event is to present the richness of folk creativity, traditional crafts and authentic homemade products, while supporting the dedicated producers and artisans who preserve the cultural heritage of Podrinje,” Janjić said.
Handicrafts, Souvenirs and Homemade Products
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore and purchase a wide range of handicrafts, unique souvenirs, artistic creations and locally made products prepared according to traditional recipes.
In addition to the exhibition and sales segment, the event will offer guests a chance to learn more about the customs, way of life and rich traditions of the Podrinje region, preserved for decades by the skilled hands of local craftsmen and households.
Invitation to Residents and Tourists
Janjić invited the people of Višegrad, as well as the many visitors and tourists currently staying in the town on the banks of the Drina River, to attend the event and support local creators.
“We invite all lovers of tradition, handmade crafts and homemade products to join us and become part of this beautiful story celebrating the identity and heritage of Podrinje,” he said.
The Višegrad Bridge as a Symbol of Tradition
The “Golden Hands of Podrinje” event will take place on the iconic Višegrad Bridge, one of the town’s most recognizable landmarks and a must-see tourist attraction.
Organizers expect a large number of exhibitors and visitors, and believe that this event will once again highlight the importance of preserving traditional values and presenting them to new generations and tourists visiting the Podrinje region.
