RADIMLJA IN STOLAC BECOMES A STAGE ONCE AGAIN AS THE “SLOVO GORČINA” CULTURE FESTIVAL BEGINS

From July 24 to 26, the town of Stolac will host the 55th edition of the “Slovo Gorčina” Culture Festival, one of the most important cultural events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The festival will traditionally open at the Radimlja Necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkable collection of medieval stećci (tombstones).

A Rich Cultural Programme

Visitors can enjoy a programme that brings together literature, music, film, visual arts and performance at authentic locations throughout Stolac. This year's special guests include Zlatan Stipišić Gibonni, who will present his poetry, and Rambo Amadeus, who will perform a concert and take part in a discussion with the audience.

During the festival, the prestigious “Mak Dizdar” Award for the best unpublished debut poetry collection by a young author will be presented, along with the “Before Dawn” Award for the best poem written during the festival.

Literature, Art and Film

The audience will also have the opportunity to meet acclaimed regional writers, including Svetislav Basara, Ante Tomić, Martina Mlinarević, Ahmed Burić, and other distinguished authors. The programme also features two art exhibitions, a performance piece, and a screening of the award-winning film “Fiume o morte!”.

A creative writing workshop has been prepared for younger visitors, while the evenings will be reserved for music programmes and social gatherings in the historic Šarića House.

Rambo Amadeus Concert

Apart from the ticketed Rambo Amadeus concert, all other festival events are free of charge. Alongside its rich cultural programme, the festival offers visitors an opportunity to discover the natural beauty of Stolac, the Bregava River, and the Radimlja Necropolis, one of the most significant monuments of medieval heritage in Herzegovina.
