The development of the platform is focused on bridging the gap between local tourism providers and modern booking habits.
“Republic
of Srpska and Serbia have an exceptional offering in spa, health and
recreational tourism, but users do not have a single place where they can
easily find, compare and book what they need. SRB Turizam is not simply a
catalogue of destinations. Our goal is to create an advanced system and a joint
digital brand that will generate concrete growth in international tourist
arrivals,” says Novak Čičković.
Unlike
global platforms such as Booking, which primarily facilitate accommodation
sales, SRB Turizam is being designed to enable visitors to book specific
health, rehabilitation and wellness services as well.
THE MEANING OF THE BRAND AND DEVELOPMENT PHASES
The
platform's name reflects its core functions and planned stages of expansion.
According to Čičković, SRB represents an abbreviation of three areas:
S –
Sports
R –
Recreation
B –
Spa
The
first phase focuses on the spa and health tourism sector, which generates a
significant number of overnight stays and tends to attract visitors for longer
periods.
The
next stages are expected to expand the platform to include mountain and
water-based tourism resources, as well as active tourism.
The
concept is designed to move beyond traditional accommodation booking and create
an integrated digital ecosystem connecting destinations, accommodation
providers and specialised tourism, health, rehabilitation and wellness
services.
EXPO 2027 AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT THE REGION
The
upcoming EXPO 2027 in Belgrade has been identified as an important opportunity
to present the region's integrated tourism offering to an international
audience and introduce the SRB Turizam platform to potential visitors and
partners.
Project
initiators emphasise that this is an important moment for stronger cooperation
between the private and public sectors.
“One
spa is an individual offering. Dozens of connected spas and centres can become
a serious and internationally recognised destination. We do not need to invent
what we do not have; we need to connect, present and sell much better what we
already possess. We have started that process.
“This
is an invitation to the relevant ministries, tourism organisations and
businesses to become involved from the very beginning. Our goal is to jointly
connect and properly present the resources we already have. Everyone who
genuinely wants to see our tourism sector grow will know where to find us,”
Čičković concludes.
The
first version of the digital platform is currently under development, while
meetings with tourism businesses and representatives of relevant institutions
are taking place in parallel.
The
ambition behind SRB Turizam is clear: to transform a fragmented collection of
spa, wellness, health and recreational tourism products into a connected
regional destination capable of competing for a larger share of the rapidly
growing international wellness tourism market.
