OKTOBERFEST KICKS OFF IN MUNICH, EXPECTING 6.5 MILLION VISITORS

Oktoberfest has officially begun in Munich, with organizers expecting around 6.5 million visitors this year.

The 191st edition of the world-famous festival will run until October 4, bringing together Bavarian tradition, beer, food and entertainment.

The opening celebrations include the traditional parade of brewers, restaurateurs and festival staff, while another major parade featuring around 9,000 participants in traditional Bavarian costumes will take place on the second day.

Visitors can also enjoy several new attractions this year, including a 42-meter-high ride and the “Fishing Village” featuring moving obstacles and 3D effects.

Beer prices have increased slightly, with a one-liter mug costing between €14.80 and €15.90.

Oktoberfest will also become a film set this year, as a Netflix romantic comedy is scheduled to be filmed at the Theresienwiese festival grounds.
