The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in China organized a series of activities aimed at promoting Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, while strengthening their cultural and tourism image on the Chinese market.
As
part of these efforts, a multi-day exhibition was held featuring domestic
products, souvenirs, traditional folk costumes, and elements of the region’s
rich cultural heritage. Special attention was given to the Zmijanje Embroidery,
which is inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural
Heritage of Humanity.
The
exhibition attracted numerous visitors, including Chen Guo You, Special
Representative of the People’s Republic of China for Cooperation with Central
and Eastern European Countries, who visited the event together with members of
his team.
A special meeting was also held with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to China, Siniša Berjan, focusing on opportunities to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
According
to a statement from the Embassy, Ambassador Berjan personally presented the
exhibited items to visitors, explaining their cultural, historical, and
traditional significance, while highlighting the richness and diversity of the
heritage of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As
part of the promotional activities, a two-day television program dedicated to
the presentation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was also filmed. The program is
scheduled to be broadcast across China in February, ahead of the celebration of
the Chinese New Year.
“The
show will focus on local gastronomy, the preparation of traditional dishes, as
well as the presentation of folk customs, music, and dances, with the aim of
bringing our culture closer to the wider Chinese audience,” the Embassy stated.
These
activities, they added, represent a significant contribution to the advancement
of cultural and tourism cooperation between the two countries and further
strengthen the international visibility of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
