The German retail chain "Lidl" is expanding its network in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is planning to build a store in Modriča.
According to CAPITAL, "Lidl" received a building permit last month for the construction of a store on the Šamački put location. Additionally, last month, they submitted a request to the relevant department for an environmental permit for a large transformer station, further indicating the seriousness of their intentions.
"In terms of permits, they have completed almost everything and can start construction as early as tomorrow," a source from the local community told CAPITAL.
The new store location is in close proximity to local retail chains "Tropic" and "Slavuljica."
"Lidl" has previously revealed some of its plans for Bosnia and Herzegovina, which include a network of stores across the country. In May, they began construction of a logistics center worth 100 million euros.
Last month, they also started building a shopping center in Gradiška, where 80 people are expected to be employed.
In general, Lidl is a retail chain with over 12,200 branches and more than 220 logistics centers in over 30 countries, employing around 376,000 people worldwide.
