HIKING TRAIL ON GRKINJA MOUNTAIN RESTORED: 13 KILOMETERS OF NATURE AND BREATHTAKING VIEWS

Nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts have another reason to visit Zvornik. Members of the Korak Mountaineering and Environmental Association have restored approximately 13 kilometers of hiking trails on Grkinja Mountain, making this scenic route safer and more accessible for everyone eager to explore the natural beauty of the region.

Over the past few days, dedicated volunteers have been clearing the trail, removing fallen trees and dense vegetation, and renewing existing trail markings while adding new ones.

Special attention was given to sections where hikers previously faced a greater risk of losing their way.

The restoration work also benefited from the expertise of two association members who completed professional training in hiking trail marking last year.

BOROVNJAK VIEWPOINT – A BREATHTAKING PANORAMA

One of the highlights of this hiking route is the spectacular Borovnjak viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of Zvornik Lake and the surrounding landscapes.

This scenic location is particularly attractive to nature lovers, photographers, and outdoor adventure enthusiasts.

The trail restoration was also part of preparations for the Republic Hiking Event, scheduled for October 10 on Grkinja Mountain, with participants starting their journey from the mountain lodge in Liješanj.

The Korak Mountaineering and Environmental Association traditionally welcomes around 150 hikers from across the region each year, with an even greater turnout expected for this year's event.

Thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of its members, Grkinja Mountain continues to strengthen its reputation as an attractive destination for hiking, recreation, and outdoor activities.

The newly restored trail invites adventurers and nature enthusiasts to discover the hidden beauty of the Zvornik region and enjoy unforgettable views of its spectacular landscapes.
