Festival organizers have issued a public call for professional theatres from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia to submit productions for the festival’s competitive program.

Applications are open until July 1.

The selection of performances will be overseen by festival curator Aleksandar Stojković, while the final list of participating productions is expected to be announced no later than August 6.

In addition to the traditional Audience Award, this year’s edition will present prizes for Best Performance, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Set Design, Best Costume Design and Best Original Music. Awards for Best Young Actor and Best Young Actress will also be presented, while the professional jury will have the option of granting up to two special awards.

For nearly two decades, the “Golden Fairy” festival has served as a meeting point for theatre professionals from the region, showcasing outstanding productions and fostering cultural exchange. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most important cultural events in Prijedor, attracting performers, theatre enthusiasts and audiences from across Southeast Europe.

The upcoming edition is expected to continue that tradition, offering a week of high-quality theatrical performances and celebrating the creativity and diversity of the regional theatre scene.
