CHILDREN FROM BILEĆA TRAVEL THROUGH REPUBLIKA SRPSKA IN A UNIQUE PICTURE BOOK

A special picture book titled “Discover Our Homeland by Traveling with Us” was presented at the Sveti Sava Primary School in Bileća. It was created through the joint efforts of pupils, their teacher Sanja Grubačić, and parents.

Through drawings, short sentences and their imagination, the children “traveled” from town to town, discovering the landmarks, landscapes and beauty of Republika Srpska.

The picture book was presented ahead of September 15 – the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag.

Second-grade pupils illustrated places such as Višegrad, Andrićgrad and the famous Bridge on the Drina, while parents also joined the creative process and helped the children with their work.

School principal Nebojša Kulidžan emphasized the importance of cooperation between pupils, teachers and parents, as well as teaching children from an early age to learn about, appreciate and preserve the heritage of Bileća, Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.

The school announced that the picture book will be given as a special gift to future visitors.

More than a collection of children’s drawings, the book is a lasting memory of a creative journey through Republika Srpska and a reminder that love for one’s homeland begins with knowledge, curiosity and education.
