The town of Kostajnica will become a gathering place for artists from across the region and Europe on June 20, 2026, when it hosts the Second International Art Colony “Kostajnica 2026.” The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Town Park and near the Piralo Apartments, located on the picturesque banks of the Una River.
The
art colony aims to bring together painters and art enthusiasts, encouraging the
exchange of ideas, experiences, and painting techniques while inspiring the
creation of new works of art. Participants will enjoy complete creative
freedom, as this year’s edition features an open theme.
A
total of 25 painters from five countries will take part in the event,
representing Croatia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, and Serbia.
Their presence is expected to transform Kostajnica into a vibrant open-air
studio, showcasing a variety of artistic styles and approaches.
As part of the program, an art workshop will be held at noon in the Town Park under the guidance of academic painter Mihael Kolarić.
The session will provide
visitors and art lovers with a unique opportunity to learn directly from a
professional artist and gain insight into the creative process.
The
cultural event is organized by Restaurant “Domaćin,” with support from the
Municipality of Kostajnica and the Tourist Organization of Kostajnica.
Combining
artistic expression with the natural beauty of the Una River, the International
Art Colony “Kostajnica 2026” promises a rich cultural experience and an
inspiring day for both participants and visitors alike.
