CONSTRUCTION OF SPIRITUAL CENTER IN MRKONJIĆI NEARS COMPLETION AHEAD OF MAY 12

Construction works on the Spiritual Center in Mrkonjići are in their final phase and are expected to be completed by May 12, when the Day of Saint Basil of Ostrog and Tvrdoš is celebrated.

On this occasion, Trebinje Mayor Mirko Ćurić visited the construction site today.

The project has been highlighted as one of the most significant capital investments currently underway in the city.

“This project is of exceptional importance for Trebinje and the entire Herzegovina region, as it contributes to making Mrkonjići an even stronger spiritual and cultural center,” Ćurić said.

The final phase of construction includes the building of a monastery residence with a viewpoint, an open-air amphitheater, a museum space with a treasury, as well as accompanying infrastructure.

The value of works in this phase amounts to approximately 1.7 million KM. The project is being implemented with the support of the governments of Republika Srpska and Serbia, along with funding from the City of Trebinje’s budget.
