POLICE ORCHESTRA OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA PERFORMS AT “MEGALI PANAGIA AMPELONAS” FESTIVAL IN GREECE

The Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska took part in the traditional “Megali Panagia Ampelonas” Festival of wine, tsipouro and grape harvesting, held in Megali Panagia in the Municipality of Aristotle, Greece.

The festival, which brings together a large number of local residents, visitors and tourists, once again provided an opportunity to showcase the rich traditions, culture and customs of the region, while also strengthening international cultural cooperation.

MORE THAN 130 PARTICIPANTS IN THE FESTIVAL PARADE

As part of the official opening ceremony, more than 130 members of local folklore and dance groups, together with a folklore ensemble, took part in a festive parade.

The Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska was also among the participants, adding a distinctive musical element to the opening ceremony.

The orchestra performed a specially prepared musical programme, contributing to the festive atmosphere and presenting Serbian musical heritage to the Greek audience.

SERBIAN MARCHES AND POPULAR MUSIC

During its concert, the Police Orchestra performed famous Serbian marches, as well as film and popular music by Serbian and international composers.

The performance was an opportunity for audiences in Greece to become acquainted with part of the musical tradition and cultural heritage of Republika Srpska, while the participation of the orchestra further contributed to cultural ties between the two communities.

CULTURAL COOPERATION BETWEEN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA AND GREECE

The participation of the Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska in this important cultural event was organised in cooperation with the Representative Office of Republika Srpska in Greece.

Events such as the “Megali Panagia Ampelonas” Festival provide an opportunity to promote cultural heritage beyond national borders and strengthen connections between Republika Srpska and Greece through music, tradition and cultural exchange.
