The municipality of Šekovići is once again inviting talented young speakers to take part in the sixth edition of its popular public speaking competition, which will be held on July 22 as part of the annual "Kul Jul" summer festival.
Organizers
say the event has become one of the festival's most recognizable programs,
attracting gifted students and young orators from across the region year after
year.
"This
year we will organize the public speaking competition for the sixth consecutive
time. Some of the best law students in Republika Srpska have participated in
our Evening of Oratory. One of the winners of our competition later went on to
win at the renowned Ivanjica Nušićijada festival," said Marko Perendić,
Director of the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Šekovići, speaking
on behalf of the organizers.
According
to Perendić, both university students and high school students are eligible to
apply. The panel of judges for this year's competition will include Rajko
Lazić, Master of Laws and Secretary General of the Red Cross of Republika
Srpska, priest Ivan Savinović, and Professor Dimitrije Ćeranić.
Participants are required to submit an original speech on a topic of their choice. The speech must not contain profanity or any form of national, racial, religious, or other discriminatory or offensive language.
The
presentation should last between five and seven minutes.
Interested
candidates are required to send the text of their speech to
to.sekovici@gmail.com no later than July 16. After reviewing the submitted
texts, the organizers will invite selected candidates to participate in the
final public speaking competition.
The
"Kul Jul" festival continues to enrich the cultural life of Šekovići
through a variety of events, with the Evening of Oratory standing out as an
opportunity for young people to showcase their eloquence, creativity, and
public speaking skills.
