Gradiška will become a meeting point for filmmakers, artists and cinema enthusiasts this September as the International Film Festival “Kova” brings a programme dedicated to film, culture and contemporary artistic expression.
Taking place from September 10 to 13, the festival will fill
this city on the Sava River with film screenings and accompanying events,
creating a new cultural gathering point in Republika Srpska.
The festival is named after Koviljka Kova Bačvić, the first
female film editor in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose professional work left an
important mark on the region’s cinematography.
FOUR DAYS DEDICATED TO THE SEVENTH ART
For four festival days, Gradiška will welcome filmmakers and
audiences eager to discover new cinematic stories, emerging authors and
different approaches to filmmaking.
One of the festival’s key features is its international
character, providing a platform for local, regional and international
filmmakers and giving Gradiška an opportunity to present its cultural scene
beyond the local community.
The festival also offers audiences the chance to discover
films that often remain outside mainstream cinema, creating an opportunity for
a different and more diverse cinematic experience.
GRADIŠKA AS A CULTURAL TOURISM DESTINATION
The film festival is also becoming an interesting addition
to Gradiška’s tourism offer.
Cultural events such as “Kova” contribute to a richer
visitor experience, particularly for travellers who want to explore a
destination not only through its natural landscapes and gastronomy, but also
through art, culture and local events.
For visitors arriving in Gradiška in September, the festival
can provide an additional reason to stay longer, explore the city and
experience its growing cultural scene.
Located on the Sava River and close to important transport
routes, Gradiška has significant potential for developing different forms of
tourism, with cultural and film events representing an increasingly important
part of that offer.
HONOURING KOVA BAČVIĆ AND SUPPORTING NEW FILMMAKERS
One of the festival’s distinctive features is its
combination of remembrance and support for contemporary filmmakers.
Through the name of Koviljka Kova Bačvić, the festival
preserves the memory of an important figure in the history of cinema in this
region, while at the same time creating space for new generations of filmmakers
to present their ideas and stories.
This combination of heritage and contemporary creativity
gives the festival a special character and makes it a valuable addition to the
cultural offer of Republika Srpska.
SEPTEMBER BRINGS A NEW FILM STORY TO GRADIŠKA
The International Film Festival “Kova” will bring together
film, art, culture and tourism, placing Gradiška in the spotlight of cinema
enthusiasts for several days.
For audiences, filmmakers and festival guests, the event
will be an opportunity to enjoy film screenings, meet new people and discover
new creative voices, while also experiencing Gradiška as a destination that is
increasingly developing its tourism offer through cultural events.
