DAYS OF SEMBERIJA IN AUSTRIA: CULTURE, TRADITION AND LOCAL PRODUCTS PRESENTED TO AUSTRIAN AUDIENCES

The “Days of Semberija in Austria” event, showcasing Semberija’s cultural heritage, contemporary art, economic potential and local products, opens today in Vienna.

The programme will run until September 27 across Vienna, Graz and Tulln, organised by the Representative Office of Republika Srpska in Austria, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Austria and the Semberija Cultural Centre from Bijeljina.

FROM CULTURE TO BUSINESS

The event will officially open with a formal ceremony in Vienna, while a business breakfast is scheduled for the following day, focusing on connecting entrepreneurs and institutions, exchanging experiences and strengthening economic cooperation.

The programme also includes an exhibition by academic painter Natalija Cimeša and photographer Dejan Čabrilo, as well as presentations and tastings of local products from Semberija.

One of the main goals of the event is to give small producers an opportunity to showcase their products, establish new business contacts and explore possibilities for reaching regional markets.

THE SOUNDS OF SEMBERIJA IN AUSTRIA

Semberija’s rich musical tradition will also have a prominent place in the programme. It will be presented by accordionists Đorđe Perić and Dušan Sekulić with his band, the Serbian Singing Society “Srbadija” and the Serbian Cultural and Artistic Society “Semberija” from Bijeljina.

BiH Ambassador to Austria Siniša Bencun said that Semberija has significant economic potential and high-quality local products that deserve greater promotion.

According to Bencun, the event offers small producers an opportunity to connect with businesspeople in Austria, exchange experiences and further strengthen ties with the large diaspora community in the country.

Mladen Filipović, Head of the Representative Office of Republika Srpska in Austria, said the event provides an opportunity to present Semberija in a comprehensive way – through its culture, art and traditions, as well as its economy and potential for future cooperation.

The “Days of Semberija in Austria” also have a humanitarian dimension, highlighting the importance of cooperation that not only connects people, institutions and businesses but also contributes to the wider community.
