BANJA LUKA – The “Sestre Gajić” Library has invited young book lovers, creative readers and aspiring writers to take part in this year’s “Literary Summer” event by sharing stories about their unforgettable summer holidays.
Under
a slogan celebrating imagination and the joy of reading, children are
encouraged to keep a diary and record their “Summer Holiday Adventures.” The
most enthusiastic and fastest participants have already received special
journals as gifts from the library, while everyone else is welcome to write
their stories in their own notebooks.
Entries
can be submitted in person at the “Sestre Gajić” Library in Banja Luka or sent
by email to bibliotekasestaragajic@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions is
August 31.
According to the library, the most original and creative stories will be rewarded with a very special prize – a book that, as one young reader secretly told the organizers, is “the one I would like to keep forever.”
“Don’t
let your summer holiday be boring. Read about adventures in books, imagine your
own, or go out and experience them yourself. Let your pencil write from the
heart and come visit us,” the library said in its invitation to children.
For
years, the “Sestre Gajić” Library has been recognized as a place that promotes
reading, creativity and community, offering free access to books along with a
variety of cultural and educational activities for children.
The
library was established to preserve the memory of Tatjana Gajić and continue
supporting the fight for her sister Milana Gajić, whose story united Banja Luka
and Republika Srpska in raising awareness of Lafora disease. Today, it stands
as a symbol of compassion, friendship and hope while inspiring new generations
to discover the magic of books and storytelling.
