MORE FLIGHTS FROM BANJA LUKA TO MONTENEGRO COMING SOON

Air Montenegro is planning to significantly expand its seasonal air service between Banja Luka and Tivat in 2027, following excellent results recorded on the route this year.

The airline achieved a load factor of more than 90 percent on the Banja Luka–Tivat route, while a number of flights were completely sold out. The strong demand has encouraged Air Montenegro to further improve the service next year.

FLIGHTS TO START EARLIER AND CONTINUE INTO OCTOBER

According to the aviation portal Zamaaero, flights on the route are expected to begin considerably earlier in 2027, with the first service scheduled for May 15.

The route will also remain operational throughout October, extending the seasonal connection between Banja Luka and the Montenegrin coast.

An additional increase in capacity is planned during the peak summer period. From mid-June until the end of August, the number of weekly flights is expected to rise from two to three.

EARLIER SALES EXPECTED TO BOOST DEMAND

Air Montenegro also expects better results because tickets for the 2027 season will be put on sale significantly earlier than this year.

Sales for the current season started relatively late, while an earlier booking period is expected to give passengers more opportunities to plan their holidays and increase demand for the route.

The performance of this year's service, as well as the results achieved in 2027, will be carefully analysed by the airline.

BANJA LUKA–PODGORICA LINE COULD FOLLOW

If the Banja Luka–Tivat route achieves results next year comparable to those recorded in 2026, Air Montenegro plans to introduce another route connecting Banja Luka with Podgorica immediately after the end of the seasonal Tivat service.

The potential introduction of a Banja Luka–Podgorica route would further strengthen air connectivity between Republika Srpska and Montenegro, while also creating new travel opportunities for passengers from Banja Luka.

NEW CONNECTIONS TO MAJOR EUROPEAN CITIE

The potential Podgorica service could be particularly important because it would open up a range of onward connections from Banja Luka through Podgorica to major European destinations.

Among the cities that could become accessible through such connections are Paris, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Zurich and Rome.

The expansion of Air Montenegro's services would therefore not only improve access to Montenegro's Adriatic coast, but could also strengthen Banja Luka's position as an increasingly important regional air travel hub.
