At a time when store shelves are filled with mass-produced toys, the story of handmade toys carries a special value.

This is exactly the story behind the brand “Moje Igračkice”, created by Ranka Majkić - a woman who turned her love for crocheting into recognizable, gentle, and safe toys for children.

Love for Crocheting Since Childhood

Ranka Majkić says she has been involved in handicrafts since childhood, and she learned her first crocheting skills from her mother.

“I have been crocheting since I was little - my mother taught me,” says Majkić, adding that in the past four years she has also started publicly presenting her work.

Today, her handmade toys for children are recognized for their carefully crafted details, warmth, and the unique charm that products made by human hands carry.

The Process of Making Handmade Toys

Each toy is made by hand, using natural materials and a great deal of patience. As she explains, she most often uses cotton thread and plush yarn, and the entire process requires time and precision.

“It takes about ten hours of active work to make a unicorn,” she says.

She adds that smaller items, such as keychains, can sometimes be even more demanding because they involve finer details and require great accuracy.

Safe Toys for the Youngest

Majkić pays special attention to product safety, which is why the toys are suitable even for babies.

“These are all handmade toys that are completely safe – there is no plastic or glue. Inside there is anti-allergenic silicone filling, so they are completely safe for babies,” she explains.

Because of the natural materials and careful craftsmanship, these toys are increasingly becoming the choice of parents looking for safe and high-quality toys for children.

A Hobby That Brings Special Value

Although she has customers, Ranka admits that it would be difficult to make a living from this work alone.

“It’s more of a hobby. Living only from this would be difficult,” she says honestly.

Still, every new piece that leaves her workshop confirms that love, patience, and skill are often more valuable than mass production. That is exactly why toys from the “Moje Igračkice” brand carry a special warmth – the kind that comes from human hands.
