For many people, "Kuhinjica" is far more than just a brand. It is the familiar aroma of a homemade meal welcoming you home, the perfect answer when inspiration for lunch runs out, and above all, it represents 20 years of sincere connection with people who see food not merely as calories, but as art and love.
The
story began in 2006 at Novi Sad's "Škorpion," with a simple desire to
share a passion for cooking. Two decades later, "Kuhinjica" has
evolved into a phenomenon connecting millions of people. Behind the brand stand
more than 30,000 recipes, 15 culinary TV series broadcast in six European
countries, and 60 editions of its magazine, which, in the era when print
publications still dominated, reached a circulation of more than six million
copies.
Since
2012, when "Kuhinjica" found its home in Banja Luka through its
sister company MJB, borders have become nothing more than a challenge. The
brand's culinary adventures have taken its team from filming under the sun of
Namibia and Tunisia to gastronomic journeys across Europe and the Balkans.
The
milestone was celebrated in grand style on Tuesday evening at the National
Theatre of Republika Srpska, where laughter, emotion, and heartfelt memories
marked the 20th anniversary of this regional success story.
"'Kuhinjica'
was born in Novi Sad, but it grew up here in Banja Luka. I gave it something
that money cannot buy – a soul. There were sleepless nights, stories we will
tell for the rest of our lives, and recipes that became part of family
traditions. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us into their homes, and also to
those who criticized us when necessary, because that pushed us to become
better," said Zorica Đukić, the woman who has led "Kuhinjica"
with passion, dedication, and remarkable perseverance.
This rich history served as the inspiration for the anniversary celebration. Instead of a formal ceremony, guests were taken on an emotional journey through two decades of creativity, courage, and warmth.
The
spotlight also belonged to the people who gave "Kuhinjica" its
unmistakable flavor – ten outstanding chefs who were presented with unique
culinary knives as symbols of their craft and as tokens of gratitude for the
thousands of hours they spent in front of the cameras searching for the perfect
recipe.
Yet
after its first 20 years, "Kuhinjica" has no intention of slowing
down. On the contrary, the anniversary celebration was also an opportunity to
announce the brand's newest project – its first social media reality show
titled #hajdedasesnimamo#. This time, the leading roles will belong not to
professionals, but to talented amateurs eager to showcase their culinary
skills. Voting for the first contestants has already begun.
The
evening ended exactly as a true culinary story should – on the terrace of the
National Theatre of Republika Srpska, surrounded by exquisite food and the
promise that this journey will continue for at least another 20 years. Because
the secret ingredient that has made all of this possible has always been the
people who, over the years, became part of the great "Kuhinjica"
family.
