The Summer Tennis School has officially started at the Doboj Tennis Club, welcoming both children and adults. The initiative aims to encourage parents to spend quality time with their children on the tennis courts and become part of Doboj’s large tennis family.
Coach Denis Spahić told reporters that around 30 participants have enrolled in the program and will learn the basics of tennis over the next three months.
According to Spahić, these gatherings not only help participants develop tennis skills and sports culture, but also provide an opportunity to identify young talents who may become part of the club’s future.
Coach Velimir Bijeljanić explained that training sessions last one hour and are held on two courts. Children aged six to ten follow a specially designed program, while older participants train according to their previous sporting experience.
The Doboj Tennis Club is among the most successful clubs in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Over the years, it has produced numerous champions, including Nikolina Kovačević and Sara Tripić, as well as players who have achieved notable results at international tournaments, such as Luka Đurđević, Andrej Nedić, and Marko Maksimović.
This year, the Doboj Tennis Club is hosting four international tennis tournaments. The ITF M15 Futures tournament has already been completed, while the ITF J30 junior tournament for players under 18, the Tennis Europe Tournament – “Ljubiša Miladinović” Memorial for competitors under 16, and the regional veterans’ championship “Milenko Panić” Memorial are still scheduled to take place.
