OUR PHOTOGRAPHER AMONG THE FINALISTS OF THE WORLD'S GREENSTORM PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL IN MONGOLIA

Photographer Vladimir Tadić has been invited to attend the closing ceremony of the 17th Greenstorm Photography Festival, which will take place on August 20 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, as part of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17).

The invitation follows an outstanding international achievement after Tadić's photograph of the wild horses of Glamoč Field was selected among the 44 best images from an impressive 14,513 submissions received from 177 countries around the world.

By reaching the final stage of the competition, the photograph is now in contention for one of the festival's seven prestigious awards—six regional prizes and the overall global award presented to the festival's grand winner. The final results will be announced during the official awards ceremony in Ulaanbaatar, which Tadić will attend in person.

This year's Greenstorm Photography Festival, organized in partnership with the UNCCD and the G20 Global Land Initiative, is one of the world's leading photography events dedicated to environmental protection and nature conservation. The 2026 edition focuses on the importance of grasslands and pastures and their role in preserving biodiversity and combating land degradation.

Tadić's acclaimed image portrays the wild horses of Glamoč Field as a powerful symbol of nature's resilience in the face of increasingly extreme weather conditions, including prolonged droughts and devastating floods.

This recognition is not only significant for me personally, but also for raising awareness about nature conservation and promoting the remarkable natural heritage of our country," said Tadić, who has been a long-time collaborator with our portal.

His success places Bosnia and Herzegovina among the finalists of one of the world's most prestigious environmental photography competitions, while also bringing international attention to the country's unique natural landscapes and wildlife.
