HISTORIC SUCCESS FOR JEZERO: VUKOVI WIN TWO MEDALS AT THE BALKAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Young athletes from Ju-Jitsu Club Vukovi from Jezero have written a new chapter in the sporting history of their club and municipality, winning two bronze medals at the Balkan Open Championship.

Making their debut at this prestigious competition, held from September 10 to 13, ten athletes from Jezero stepped onto the tatami as part of the national team and competed against some of the best young fighters.

1,200 competitors from 23 countries

The scale of the achievement is even greater considering the strong international competition. The Balkan Open Championship brought together as many as 1,200 competitors from 23 countries.

The Vukovi athletes demonstrated skill, determination and fighting spirit, with two of them earning places on the podium.

Danijel Savić won third place in the U16, -48 kg category.

Ernad Balešić claimed third place in the U18, +85 kg category.

First historic medals for Vukovi

These are the first medals from the Balkan Open Championship in the history of Ju-Jitsu Club Vukovi, making the achievement particularly significant not only for the club but also for Jezero.

The club congratulated Danijel and Ernad, as well as all its athletes who proudly represented the club and the national team and gave their best on the tatami.

Winning two medals on their very first appearance at the Balkan Open Championship proves that great sporting achievements can come from small communities when talent, hard work, determination and strong support come together.

The young athletes from Jezero went to the championship as debutants and returned home with two historic Balkan medals.
