BOOK PROMOTION DEDICATED TO BORAC LEGEND TO BE HELD AT BANJA LUKA’S BANSKI DVOR

As part of the celebrations marking the historic triumphs of Handball Club Borac in the European Champions Cup and the IHF Cup, a promotion of the book “Abas Arslanagić – Through Technique and Speed, He Was Far Ahead of His Time” will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Council Hall of Banski Dvor Cultural Centre in Banja Luka.

The book, edited by Milica and Fadil Pelesić, offers a comprehensive account of the life, sporting career, and extraordinary achievements of one of the greatest handball players ever produced in the region. The event is being organized to commemorate Borac’s historic European successes and will provide the public with an opportunity to learn more about the life and legacy of the legendary goalkeeper whose talent, technique, and vision helped shape an entire era of handball.

Abas Arslanagić is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of Yugoslav and European handball. A legendary member of Borac Banja Luka and the Yugoslav national team, he achieved the pinnacle of his career by winning the Olympic gold medal at the 1972 Munich Games.

The authors behind the publication are both respected figures in their respective fields. Milica Pelesić is a writer, publicist, and long-time cultural worker, while Fadil Pelesić is a renowned sports journalist, author, and sports historian who has dedicated much of his career to documenting sporting achievements and the lives of outstanding athletes.
