A rich three-day program will officially open the summer tourist season in Višegrad from May 22 to May 24, the Višegrad Tourist Organization announced.
The
Mayor of Višegrad, Mladen Đurević, stated that the event is the result of prior
agreements with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia
and Herzegovina and represents part of a broader vision for the municipality’s
development.
“This
is the result of joint efforts and coordination with the relevant ministry,
which is already working on a development strategy for Višegrad. Our goal is
long-term investment, strengthening the tourism offer, and positioning Višegrad
as a significant destination in the region,” Đurević said.
The
event will begin on May 22 with an official opening ceremony at Andrićgrad
starting at 8:00 PM. The program will include the premiere screening of a
promotional tourism film about Višegrad, to be shown on the plateau in front of
the Church of Saint Tsar Lazar, followed by a welcome cocktail reception.
On the
second day, May 23, the city will host the “Višegrad Promenade” from 10:00 AM
to 8:00 PM, featuring around 20 exhibitors. Participants will include local
food and beverage producers, hospitality and hotel representatives,
agricultural producers, beekeepers, and handicraft artisans.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a diverse program that includes live music, street entertainment, and various tourist activities such as boat rides through the Drina River canyon and rides on a tourist train.
As
part of the daytime program, a morning broadcast by Radio Television of
Republika Srpska will be aired, along with media promotion of Višegrad’s
tourism offer. In the evening, starting at 9:00 PM, a concert by Nikola Rokvić
is scheduled to take place at the small stadium in Andrićgrad.
The
third day, May 24, will continue with the “Višegrad Promenade,” tourist rides,
and accompanying activities, rounding off the three-day event dedicated to
promoting the town’s tourism potential.
Organizers
emphasize that the goal of the event is to enhance the tourism offer, preserve
tradition, and create conditions for new investments in the development of the
local community.
