Republika Srpska welcomed a total of 64,282 tourists during the first two months of this year, generating 191,673 overnight stays, according to data released by the Republic Institute of Statistics of Republika Srpska.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of tourist arrivals increased by four percent, while the number of overnight stays rose significantly by 10.2 percent, indicating a steady growth in tourism activity.
Foreign visitors accounted for the majority of overnight stays, with 135,039 recorded nights, while domestic tourists contributed 56,634 overnight stays.
Tourists from Croatia led the rankings with 52,356 overnight stays. They were followed by visitors from Serbia with 40,148 stays, while tourists from Slovenia recorded more than 14,000 overnight stays.
Among
non-European markets, visitors from China accounted for 1,742 overnight stays,
while tourists from the United States recorded 559 stays.
MOUNTAIN DESTINATIONS GAINING POPULARITY
When
analyzed by type of tourist destination, mountain resorts proved to be the most
popular. Domestic tourists recorded 13,550 overnight stays in these areas,
while foreign visitors accounted for 49,011 stays.
Notably,
the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists in mountain destinations
during the first two months of this year increased by one-third compared to the
same period last year, highlighting the growing appeal of Republika Srpska’s पर्व
natural landscapes and winter tourism offer.
