The Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board has launched a public procurement procedure for the installation and illumination of “Instagrammable spots” across Sarajevo, with an estimated budget of KM 85,000 excluding VAT.
The
procurement is being conducted through an open procedure, with the contract to
be awarded based on the lowest bid. The main subject of the tender is lighting
equipment and electric lamps.
The
selected contractor will be required to provide a performance guarantee.
According to the procurement notice, detailed participation requirements,
technical specifications, delivery location and payment terms have not been
provided.
TOURISM GROWTH IN SARAJEVO
The
planned investment comes as Sarajevo Canton records growth in tourist activity.
According
to data published by the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, tourist arrivals in
January and February this year increased by 0.6 per cent compared with the same
period last year, while overnight stays rose by 21.4 per cent.
The
Tourist Board believes visitors are increasingly staying longer in Sarajevo,
according to the Klix news portal.
In
January alone, Sarajevo recorded 50,546 tourist arrivals and 152,798 overnight
stays. Turkey, Croatia and China were the leading countries of origin among
foreign visitors.
FAMOUS PHOTO SPOTS ACROSS THE CITY
Sarajevo
already offers numerous popular locations for photography and social media
posts, combining historic architecture, cultural heritage and natural scenery.
Among
the city's best-known spots are Baščaršija and its iconic Sebilj fountain,
Sarajevo City Hall, the Yellow Fortress, the abandoned bobsleigh track on Mount
Trebević, the Latin Bridge, the Kovači neighbourhood and Vrelo Bosne.
The
planned illumination of Instagrammable locations is intended to enhance their
visual appeal and further strengthen Sarajevo's attractiveness as a tourist
destination.
