The news that delights all citizens is that this year the free days for May 1st and Easter are combined, so many will manage to combine these days and make a mini vacation.
This year's non-working days will start with Labor Day, May
1st and 2nd are standard non-working days, and immediately after them are the
non-working days for Easter from May 3rd to 6th and May 9th, Victory Day over
Fascism. So from May 1st to May 9th, many will be resting.
The school vacation will coincide with the non-working days
we have already mentioned.
The vacation starts on April 29th, so many parents take
additional days off to fully utilize and coordinate their vacation with the
spring break.
Here's how to combine the non-working days:
Namely, the next break from work awaits us from May 1st,
Labor Day, which falls on Wednesday, and May 2nd, Thursday.
Then, already on Friday, May 3rd, Good Friday falls, and
then on Sunday, May 5th, Easter. May 6th, Easter Monday, is also a non-working
day. If you have remaining vacation days, one suggestion is to take three
working days off (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday) and get 12 days of vacation as
you combine it all with the upcoming weekend.
Or, a "painless" option for many – April 29th and
30th, so you can extend until May 7th, which is still quite a lot.
If one of the dates of the state holidays falls on a Sunday,
the next working day is not affected. This does not apply when it comes to
religious holidays, according to Blic.
Non-working days in May 2024:
May 1st – Labor Day
May 2nd – Labor Day
May 3rd – Good Friday
May 5th – Easter
May 6th – Easter Monday (St. George's Day)
