Jekića Lakes in Obudovac near Šamac are a true haven for anglers and nature enthusiasts alike.
The irregularly shaped lake boasts 12 carp fishing spots and
was constructed in 2007, opening to visitors in 2009. The lake is comprised of
three interconnected parts with irregularly shaped channels, covering an area
of seven hectares.
The lake operates under a "catch and release" policy.
Formed from gravel excavation, it is considered one of the oldest pits, with depths ranging from one to 6-7 meters.
The lake is rich in fish and is
stocked annually. It is home to various fish species, including catfish,
pikeperch, carp, pike, barbel, crucian carp, bream, and some types of eels.
This destination attracts sport fishing enthusiasts and
competitors. Adjacent to the lake are huts with barbecue canopies, video
cameras, internet access, water, electricity, and all necessary amenities for
tourists. The lake is maintained by the Ecological Association
"Ekob."
