Following the example of the “Krajina House”, “Herzegovina House” and “Lijevče and Potkozarje House”, which already promote local products across Republika Srpska, the “Posavina House” is expected to become a new destination for local producers and a place where visitors can discover the rich culinary and cultural heritage of the region.

The decision to establish the “Posavina House”, which will operate within the Derventa Tourist Organisation, was adopted by the City Assembly at the end of April, while the initiative came from Mayor Igor Žunić.

FROM CHEESE AND HONEY TO RAKIJA AND SOUVENIRS

The planned offer will include a wide range of local products, including cheeses, cured meat products, honey and other beekeeping products, fruit and vegetable preserves, as well as traditional beverages such as rakija, wine and liqueurs.

Handicrafts and souvenirs will also have a special place, giving the “Posavina House” an important role not only in promoting local products, but also in preserving and showcasing the traditions of the region.

AN OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCAL PRODUCERS

The Derventa Tourist Organisation has issued a public call for producers interested in offering their products through the “Posavina House”. Applications are open to commercial and non-commercial agricultural holdings, entrepreneurs, companies, artisans, workshops, handicraft and souvenir producers, as well as other registered producers of local products from the Posavina region.

Products must meet the required standards, including registration and health safety requirements, while producers may also be required to supply products for fairs and exhibitions organised as part of the “Posavina House” programme.

Applications can be submitted to the Derventa Tourist Organisation by 15 September, with the note “Application for Products for the Posavina House”.

The opening of the “Posavina House” would give Derventa another venue for promoting local production and tourism, while providing local producers with a new opportunity to bring their products closer to customers and visitors.

Alongside the existing “Krajina House”, “Herzegovina House”, “Lijevče and Potkozarje House” and “Our Shop” in Prnjavor, the “Posavina House” could become another recognisable destination for the flavours, products and traditions of Republika Srpska.
