In cooperation with the DIS Youth Theatre, the play “Vrbaska Fairy” will be performed at the Youth Center as a special gift to guests of Banja Luka during the New Year holidays. The performances are scheduled for January 12 and 13. On Monday, January 12, the play will start at 6:00 PM, while the second performance will take place on Tuesday, January 13, at 2:00 PM.

“Vrbaska Fairy” is conceived as an artistic portrayal of the city and its most recognizable motifs. Through stage storytelling and visual expression, the performance presents the symbols of Banja Luka, locations most frequently visited by tourists, as well as the spirit of the city conveyed through myths, legends, and folk tales. In this way, the audience is given the opportunity to experience Banja Luka from a different, fairy-tale perspective

Although primarily intended for children, the content of the play is adapted for all generations, making it suitable for anyone who wishes to get to know the city through a blend of culture, art, and local tradition.

The Director of the Banja Luka Tourist Organization, Minja Šurlan, emphasized the importance of such programs during the winter season, noting that the inclusion of “Vrbaska Fairy” in the holiday program aims to offer visitors high-quality cultural content in an indoor setting, providing an attractive alternative in case of unfavorable weather conditions. According to her, programs like this further enrich visitors’ stay and allow them to experience Banja Luka in a unique way.

Speaking about the concept of the play, the Director of the DIS Youth Theatre, Novica Bogdanović, highlighted its strong connection to local heritage. He explained that “Vrbaska Fairy” explores myths, stories, and legends that link Banja Luka with art and stage expression, introducing audiences—especially children—to the city in an emotional and engaging manner. The inspiration for the play comes from the rich tradition of folk legends about fairies, particularly those associated with the banks of the Vrbas River.

With this program, the Banja Luka Tourist Organization continues to create content that contributes to the diversity of the city’s tourism offer. The play “Vrbaska Fairy” will be free of charge for all visitors.
