A monodrama by Banja Luka actor Boris Šavija titled “Cabaret with Singing and Shooting (of an Individual)” will be performed on March 17 at 8 p.m. at the National Theatre of Republika Srpska.
The
monodrama, presented in a cabaret form, is based on Šavija’s original text,
interwoven with fragments of dramatic works by Bertolt Brecht, as well as
poetry, satirical notes and songs.
The
performance blends laughter with discomfort, song with warning, while opening
questions about fear, silence, conformity and responsibility — those moments
when what seems “normal” quietly turns into something dangerous.
Music in the play is performed live, but not as a classical accompaniment. Instead, it functions as a stage commentary that interrupts the flow of the narrative and strengthens the critical distance.
The
producer of the play is Zoran Galić, with dramaturgy by Radmila Smiljanić. The
set design is by Nađa Sinić, while the music is composed by Irena Popović
Dragović.
The
music will be performed live with a band, with guest pianist Arsen Čarkić.
Sound design is handled by Ninoslav Dobrijević – Tiki.
The
production is organized by Asocijacija Vizart with the support of the Ministry
of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska and the Friedrich Ebert
Foundation, according to Mondo.
Tickets
for the performance are available at the box office of the National Theatre of
Republika Srpska.
