The streets of Banja Luka have once again been transformed into a vibrant open-air stage as the annual TrotoArt Street Performers Festival officially opened, bringing color, music and spectacular performances to the largest city in Republika Srpska.
The
opening ceremony was attended by Banja Luka Mayor Draško Stanivuković, who
emphasized that the festival has grown steadily over the years, attracting an
increasing number of performers and visitors from across the region and beyond.
"This
is the fifth consecutive year that Banja Luka has hosted this unique and
distinctive festival. More than 500 performers are taking part, coming not only
from Banja Luka but from all over Republika Srpska, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia,
Spain, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina and many other countries. I would
like to thank everyone who has come to showcase their art and creativity on the
streets of our city," Stanivuković said.
The
mayor invited residents and tourists alike to enjoy the festival's rich
programme throughout the next seven days, highlighting the event as one of the
most recognizable cultural manifestations in the city.
Spomenko Guzijan, president of the Banja Luka City Tamburitza Orchestra and co-organizer of the event, said visitors can expect an exciting schedule filled with performances, workshops, impressive stage effects and a lively atmosphere.
"Five
years of continuity means that TrotoArt has already become a tradition. It will
continue to live on the streets of Banja Luka and bring together artists from
all over the world. At the same time, it encourages local artists to step
outside traditional venues, connect with audiences and expand the artistic
scene. Music is not reserved only for concert halls, theatre is not limited to
theatres, and paintings are not confined to galleries – all of this can be
experienced on the streets of Banja Luka," Guzijan said.
The grand
opening was marked by positive energy, creativity and a strong sense of
community, setting the tone for the days ahead. Every corner of the city is
expected to be filled with the unique spirit of the festival, offering visitors
memorable experiences and a wide range of cultural activities.
Over
the coming days, TrotoArt will feature numerous performances, workshops and
entertainment programmes, with the opening night already proving that visitors
can look forward to unforgettable moments and a celebration of art in all its
forms.
