Kravica Waterfall, one of the most beautiful natural gems of Herzegovina, has been named among the 12 best hidden treasures in Europe for 2026 on the Best Treasure Destinations in Europe list, published by the renowned tourism platform European Best Destinations.
Kravica ranked seventh, joining a selection of attractive European destinations such as Tübingen in Germany, Motovun in Croatia, Isola San Giulio in Italy and Meteora in Greece.
The Tourist Board of the City of Ljubuški said the recognition confirms not only Kravica’s natural value, but also the authenticity of the wider area, which has been attracting an increasing number of visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and around the world in recent years.
“This recognition represents much more than another tourism award. It confirms that the beauty of Kravica, as well as the authenticity of the area in which it is located, has its place on the European tourism map,” the Tourist Board of the City of Ljubuški said.
A NATURAL PHENOMENON SHAPED BY THE TREBIŽAT RIVER
Through its travertine barriers, the Trebižat River has created one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most impressive natural phenomena. Surrounded by lush greenery and natural pools, Kravica Waterfall is particularly attractive during the warmer months, when its cascades and crystal-clear water create a spectacular setting that draws nature lovers and photography enthusiasts.
A BLEND OF NATURE, GASTRONOMY AND TRADITION
In recent years, Kravica has established itself as one of the must-see attractions of Herzegovina, while its appeal continues to grow as travellers increasingly seek authentic destinations, unspoiled nature and experiences away from traditional tourist routes.
This is precisely what makes Ljubuški special – a combination of natural beauty, cultural and historical heritage, gastronomy, wine, active tourism and the hospitality of its people, with Kravica as one of its most recognisable symbols.
A DESTINATION WORTH DISCOVERING
Being included among Europe’s best hidden treasures is expected to further draw the attention of international travellers to this part of Herzegovina and confirms that some of the most beautiful travel stories are often those still waiting to be discovered.
