“THE POWER OF WOMEN” BRINGS THE MAGIC OF THEATRE UNDER THE STARS OF KASTEL

Banja Luka will host the “The Power of Women” theatre festival on September 4 and 5, bringing four contemporary theatre performances from different cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina to Kastel Fortress.

Following six months of research and creative work, the festival audience will have the opportunity to see performances that explore women, their strength, experiences and personal journeys through different artistic approaches.

The festival opens with “Zero Frequency”

The festival will officially open on Friday, September 4, at 8:00 PM. At 8:30 PM, the KIC Tomislavgrad will present “Zero Frequency”, followed at 9:30 PM by “Four”, performed by EKO ART from Bugojno.

“The Power of Women” through dialogue and theatre

On Saturday, September 5, at 5:00 PM, a panel discussion entitled “The Power of Women” will be held, followed by the evening programme.

At 8:30 PM, the audience will have the opportunity to see “Balkan Trilogy”, performed by DIS Theatre from Zvornik, while the festival will conclude at 9:30 PM with “Halfway to Myself”, performed by the Žepče City Theatre.

Theatre under the stars of Kastel

The unique atmosphere of Kastel Fortress will add a special dimension to the festival, allowing audiences to enjoy the performances under the open sky and stars, combining theatre with one of Banja Luka’s most recognisable landmarks.

Part of the “Women Lead BiH” initiative

The festival is being organised with the support of numerous partners and friends and is part of the “Women Lead BiH” initiative, jointly implemented by UNFPA and IOM Bosnia and Herzegovina and UN Women Bosnia and Herzegovina, in partnership with the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund.

At the beginning of September, theatre, Kastel Fortress and summer nights will come together in a story about women, their strength and everything that makes their journey towards themselves unique.
