The “Derbook” Book Fair in Derventa will bring together literature enthusiasts from May 11 to 13 with a rich program of lectures, book promotions, workshops, and meetings with renowned authors and artists.
The event will officially open at 3 p.m. at the Center for Culture Derventa, followed by a workshop led by Uroš Petrović. On the first evening of the fair, starting at 7 p.m., author Nenad Gugl will present his work to visitors.
The second day of the fair will feature a
lecture for children and adults by Vlada Arsić beginning at 1 p.m., while at 3
p.m. children will have the opportunity to participate in a comic art workshop
hosted by Aleksa Gajić.
Preparations for the event are already in full
swing, and organizers say everything will be ready to welcome visitors on
opening day.
“We invite all citizens of Derventa, as well
as visitors from nearby towns, to attend this event celebrating the written
word. Visitors will have the chance to meet some of the most prominent
contemporary authors and attend presentations of the latest literary works,”
the organizers said.
Numerous publishers and cultural institutions will showcase their editions, including the Official Gazette of Republika Srpska, the Institute for Textbooks and Teaching Resources from East Sarajevo, as well as publishing houses “Imprimatur,” “Deveta dimenzija,” “Pčelica,” “Buka,” “Biblioner,” “Bit izdavaštvo,” bookstores “Kultura,” “Gatarić,” “Lotos,” and “Viluks,” together with the National and University Library of Republika Srpska.
Local associations “Vihor” and IMIC will also
participate, alongside the National Library Branko Radičević and the Vocational
and Technical School from Derventa.
The fair will close on May 13 at 7 p.m. with a
conversation featuring actor Zlatan Vidović.
Hosted by the Center for Culture, the program
has been carefully designed for all generations in cooperation with
“Kulturboks” from Banja Luka and with the support of the city administration.
The book fair will be open all three days from
10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and admission will be free of charge.
