The football pitches of Banja Luka’s FK Krajina were once again filled with the energy and enthusiasm of young footballers as the second edition of the “Korak šampiona” (“Step of Champions”) youth football tournament was held on August 29.
The
tournament brought together young players from several football clubs in the
Banja Luka region, competing across three age categories: 2014/2015, 2016/2017
and 2018/2019. Matches were played in a 6+1 format, providing the youngsters
with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and gain valuable competitive
experience.
WINNERS ACROSS THREE AGE CATEGORIES
In the
2014/2015 age group, FK Krajina claimed first place, followed by FK Lauš in
second and FK Sloga Srbac in third.
The
2016/2017 category was won by FK Gomjenica, while FK Lauš finished second and
FK Spartak took third place.
In the
youngest 2018/2019 generation, FK Čelinac emerged as the winner. FK Krajina
finished second, while FK Gomjenica secured third place.
SPORT, FRIENDSHIP AND NEW EXPERIENCE
The
tournament was organised by FK Krajina from Banja Luka with the aim of giving
young footballers an opportunity to compete, socialize with their peers and
gain new sporting experiences.
Beyond
the results, “Korak šampiona” provided an opportunity for children, coaches and
families to spend the day together on the football pitch, promoting the values
of teamwork, sportsmanship and friendship.
INVESTING IN THE NEXT GENERATION
FK
Krajina, which has a strong tradition of working with youth categories, is
continuing its commitment to the development of grassroots football through
events such as this tournament.
By
bringing together young players from clubs across the region, the “Korak
šampiona” tournament is helping create an environment in which future football
talents can develop, compete and take their first steps towards becoming
tomorrow’s champions.
