BANJA LUKA TOGETHER: THE CITY OPENS ITS FIRST PUMP TRACK

Banja Luka has gained a new sports and recreational attraction - its first pump track, opened in the city’s largest park near the “Delta Planet” shopping centre.

The new track is primarily intended for children and young people, but also for everyone who enjoys cycling, rollerblading, riding scooters, staying active and spending time outdoors.

The opening of the pump track is part of a broader project to develop and enrich the city park, which is planned to become one of Banja Luka’s new gathering places.

A TRACK REQUESTED BY CHILDREN AND PARENTS

Banja Luka Mayor Draško Stanivuković said the new track was created in response to the wishes of the city’s youngest residents.

“We have opened the first pump track, something that both parents and children had asked us for. It can be used for bicycles, rollerblades and scooters. Here, healthy habits meet a little adrenaline,” Stanivuković said.

According to the mayor, this is the first track of its kind not only in Banja Luka, but in the entire Republika Srpska.

“I was surprised by our young people, who expressed their wish to have something like this in our city,” the mayor said.

The new sports zone gives young people a place to spend time outdoors, develop healthy sporting habits and enjoy activities that combine recreation with a touch of adrenaline.

NEW CONTENT IN THE CITY’S LARGEST PARK

The pump track is part of a broader vision for the development of the area near “Delta Planet”, which is planned to become one of the city’s central spaces for leisure, recreation and socialising.

“One of the most important projects among the many we have launched is this largest park near ‘Delta’. Our goal is to continue developing and improving it, which means adding a wide range of new facilities,” Stanivuković said.

He also announced further work on the area, including plans to connect the park with the Vrbas River and a new promenade that would extend towards the Rebrovac Bridge.

Plans also include connecting the area with other attractions, including a promenade towards Terme Banja Luka, where a cable car has also been announced.

BANJA LUKA TOGETHER WITH ITS YOUNGEST RESIDENTS

The new pump track is another addition that is helping shape Banja Luka as a city with open public spaces designed for children, young people and families.

Today, bicycles, rollerblades and scooters filled the new track, bringing not only sport and recreation to the park, but also what matters most – time spent together.

Stanivuković encouraged young people to enjoy the new facility while also taking care of their safety.

KASPERIJADA BRINGS CHILDREN TOGETHER

The opening of the pump track was accompanied by a programme dedicated to the youngest visitors.

Banja Luka’s children also enjoyed the largest “Banja Luka Kasperijada”, turning the new area of the city park into a place of play, socialising and entertainment.

The new pump track offers Banja Luka residents yet another reason to spend their free time outdoors – on bicycles, rollerblades or scooters, combining sport, recreation and time together.
