Banja Luka will host the European Rafting Championship from May 27 to May 30, 2026, one of the biggest sporting events set to take place in Bosnia and Herzegovina next year.
The competition will gather the best rafting teams from across Europe, while all disciplines will be held on the course in the Tijesno Canyon, famous for its attractive rapids and ideal conditions for adrenaline sports.
The championship will officially open on May
27 at 8 PM at the Karanovac Canyon Rafting Center, where the opening ceremony
of the event will be held.
The very next day, Thursday, May 28, the
sprint discipline will take place from 2 PM to 4 PM, followed by the medal
ceremony for the best teams.
Competitions continue on Friday, May 29, when the RX race will be held from 10 AM to 5 PM, while the medal ceremony is scheduled for the evening hours.
On the final day of the championship,
Saturday, May 30, rafting fans will have the opportunity to watch the slalom
race from 4 PM to 10 PM, with the closing medal ceremony marking the end of the
competition.
Organizers expect a large number of
competitors, guests, and tourists, emphasizing that the European Championship
will further promote Banja Luka and the Vrbas River as one of the most
attractive rafting destinations in the region and across Europe.
