VIŠEGRAD – Beekeepers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighboring countries are invited to participate in the International Honey and Beekeeping Equipment Fair, which will take place on September 5 and 6 in Andrićgrad, one of the region’s most important gatherings for honey producers and beekeeping professionals.
Aleksandar
Masal, president of the Višegrad Beekeepers Association, called on both local
and regional beekeepers to register for the event and take part in the
international honey quality competition, one of the fair’s main highlights.
Honey
samples will be evaluated by a panel of distinguished experts from Republika
Srpska, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia.
According to Masal, the goal is to promote premium-quality honey, encourage the
exchange of knowledge and experience among beekeepers, and strengthen
Višegrad’s reputation as a regional center for beekeeping.
The
highest-rated producers will receive five gold, five silver, and five bronze
medals along with commemorative plaques for honey quality. All other
participants will be awarded the honorary title of "Ambassador of Honey
Flavors – Višegrad 2026."
The first day of the fair, held at Nikola Tesla Square in Andrićgrad, will feature a honey and beekeeping equipment exhibition, expert lectures on honey bee pests, and presentations on queen bee breeding and production by specialists from the Beekeeping Federation of North Macedonia.
Visitors
and participants will also enjoy a boat cruise on the Drina River and a
recreational fishing competition. The official opening ceremony will take place
in the evening, followed by the announcement of the international honey competition
winners and the presentation of awards
The
second day of the event will continue with the exhibition and sales program, as
well as a practical demonstration for beekeepers at one of the apiaries owned
by members of the Višegrad Beekeepers Association.
Masal
once again encouraged beekeepers from across the region to submit their honey
for evaluation and showcase their products at one of the most significant
beekeeping events in Southeast Europe.
