It was recently announced that Finland is the happiest country in the world for the eighth consecutive year. But where does Bosnia and Herzegovina rank on this list? The ranking, which includes 147 countries and measures their happiness, places Bosnia and Herzegovina in 56th position.

WHERE DOES BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA RANK ON THE HAPPIEST COUNTRIES LIST?

The report is based on data from Gallup's global survey, which included people from over 140 countries. Countries were ranked according to their average life evaluations over the previous three years, in this case from 2022 to 2024. The happiness index is a collaborative project of Gallup, the Oxford Wellbeing Research Centre, the UN's Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and an editorial board.

Happiness Report

Finland has been declared the happiest country in the world for the eighth year in a row, and here's how the top 10 looks. The survey asked each participant to rate their life overall, and the ranking is based on these life evaluations. The report then considers six key variables that help explain life evaluations: GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity, and perceptions of corruption. When it comes to happiness, the Nordic countries seem to be doing many things right. Finland, Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden— the top four— remain in the same order as in 2024, with Norway again in seventh place.

However, when it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the research placed it in 56th place out of 147 countries. Among countries in the region, Slovenia is the highest ranked, in 19th place. Kosovo ranks 29th, while Serbia is in 31st place. Croatia is ranked below Bosnia and Herzegovina in 72nd place, with Montenegro just behind. North Macedonia is in 86th place, and Albania follows in 89th. At the very bottom of the list is Afghanistan, once again in last place. Above Afghanistan are Sierra Leone (146th), Lebanon (145th), Malawi (144th), and Zimbabwe (143rd), as reported by Klix.
