“RIBNJAK KOD BANIJE” – AN OASIS OF PEACE AND HOMEMADE DELIGHTS

Just six hundred meters from the Liplje Monastery, in the picturesque village of Gornje Liplje, lies the rural household “Ribnjak kod Banije,” which has been preserving the tradition of breeding high-quality trout and producing homemade goods for over a decade.

The Banić family, who runs the fishpond, raises trout on their own property in the crystal-clear, cold waters of the Bistrica River, which, according to the owners, provides almost perfect conditions for the fish to thrive. When it comes to cultivating edible fish, this part of the Teslić municipality offers excellent advantages due to its abundance of fast-flowing, cold waters.

Visitors to “Ribnjak kod Banije” can enjoy specialties such as freshly grilled trout, homemade whole wheat flatbreads, as well as various traditional dishes – homemade cow’s cheese, seasonal vegetable salads, the famous cicvara, and veal cooked under a sač.

Although the fishpond was originally intended solely for the family’s needs, time and dedication have led to its expansion. The Banić family has also developed and improved the surrounding facilities while carefully preserving the natural beauty of the area, creating a true small oasis where guests are happy to return.

Today, “Ribnjak kod Banije” is not only a place for delicious food but also a spot where visitors can experience the spirit of nature and tradition, in an atmosphere that radiates peace and warm hospitality.
