Popular messaging app WhatsApp is preparing a redesigned Settings menu for Android devices, aimed at making it easier and faster for users to find the options they need.
The change was spotted in the beta version
2.26.43.3 of the app and introduces a new layout for existing options,
replacing the current long list with a more organised menu.
A MORE USER-FRIENDLY SETTINGS MENU
The new design features separate groups of
settings with rounded corners, providing a cleaner layout and a more intuitive
user experience.
It follows Google's Material 3 Expressive
design guidelines for Android applications, with particular attention to
improving access to options related to privacy, user accounts and
notifications.
Although the redesign does not necessarily
introduce new features, the updated layout should help users find their
preferred settings more quickly.
NO OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE YET
The new menu is still under development and is
not yet available to all users of the WhatsApp beta version.
The company has not announced when the
redesigned menu will be rolled out to all Android users, so it remains unclear
whether the change will arrive with one of the upcoming app updates.
